About This Course

Advanced Sensing Technologies for Ocean Monitoring addresses a hard reality: the ocean is vast, hostile to instruments, and critically under-observed. You learn the sensor technologies that measure the marine environment — physical, chemical and biological — and the platforms that carry them, from moorings and buoys to autonomous underwater vehicles and gliders. The course covers the challenges of sensing in seawater (biofouling, pressure, calibration and power) and the data pipelines that turn raw readings into ocean insight. You finish able to reason about designing an ocean-monitoring sensing system. A verified e-Certificate of competency and e-Marksheet from the Deep Science & Technology Consortium.

🎯 Program Aim

This course covers advanced sensing for ocean monitoring — sensor technologies, autonomous platforms and data methods for observing the physical, chemical and biological ocean.
