About This Course

Pollution Control via Microbial Degradation explores nature’s own clean-up crew and how we put it to work. You study how microorganisms metabolise and break down pollutants — hydrocarbons, pesticides, dyes and other contaminants — and the biochemistry and genetics behind these degradation pathways. The course covers the bioremediation strategies that apply them in the real world, from in-situ treatment to bioreactors, and the factors that decide whether they succeed. You finish able to reason about a microbial approach to a pollution problem. A verified e-Certificate of competency and e-Marksheet from the Deep Science & Technology Consortium.
