About This Course

Bio Refinery: From Biomass to Value-Based Bio Products teaches how the biorefinery concept turns renewable biomass into a spectrum of valuable products, much as an oil refinery does from crude. You learn about feedstocks and their composition, the conversion routes โ€” biochemical, thermochemical and hybrid โ€” and how an integrated biorefinery co-produces fuels, chemicals and materials while minimising waste. The course connects the science to the circular, sustainable bioeconomy. You finish able to reason about a biorefinery approach to a biomass feedstock.
